⁴⁷ When the centurion^[a] saw what had taken place, he praised God and said, “This man certainly was righteous!” ⁴⁸ When all the crowds who had come together for this spectacle saw what had taken place, they beat their chests and left. ⁴⁹ But all his acquaintances, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, were standing at a distance watching these things.
